We sourced and prepared the Bubinga slab, flattened and detailed it, and engineered the base to support the weight without looking heavy. The extension was built to lock on cleanly when needed and disappear when it’s not in use. Installation was a bit of a mission: we drove down from Lancashire, carried the top and base down a tight stair to the lower ground floor, assembled, levelled and signed off the table, then drove home the same day.
For the final surface we brought in a specialist French polisher to achieve a mirror-flat finish across the whole span.
