We make bespoke furniture, kitchens, and fitted cabinetry to order from our Niseko workshop. If you have a project, a brief, or even just an idea, this is where to start the conversation.

What we typically quote for

  • Bespoke dining and coffee tables, side tables, consoles
  • Beds, headboards, bedside cabinets
  • Fitted kitchens, islands, breakfast bars, tall units
  • Bathroom vanities and storage
  • Wardrobes and bedroom storage
  • Built-in TV cabinets and entertainment units
  • Bookshelves and display cabinets
  • Under-stair and under-eave storage for awkward spaces
  • Bar fronts, counters, hospitality fit-outs
  • Signs and CNC or laser engraving on timber
  • One-off pieces from your own design or ours

What we need to know

To come back with a sensible quote, please include as much of the following as you have:

  • The space. Photos of the room, rough dimensions, plan or elevation if you have one. A phone snap and a tape measure is enough to start.
  • The piece. What you want made, what it does, what it sits next to or fits into.
  • Materials. Timber preference (oak, walnut, mizunara, cherry, hinoki and others) and finish (oil, lacquer, matte, satin). We can advise if you're unsure.
  • Deadline. When you'd ideally have it. Honest is better than aspirational.
  • Budget. A realistic range. We will be honest about whether your figure fits the brief, and what the trade-offs are if it doesn't.
  • Where you are. Most of our work is in or around Niseko, but we ship across Japan and have shipped internationally.

The more you can share up front, the faster we can come back with something useful.

How it works

  1. Send your enquiry via the contact form on our Contact page, or email louis@takumi-woodwork.com directly.
  2. Initial reply within 2 working days, with any clarifying questions.
  3. Site visit or video call to measure and discuss the brief.
  4. Drawings and a written specification.
  5. Written quote.
  6. 50% deposit to commence production.
  7. Build, install, and 50% balance on completion.

A note on lead time

Lead times move week to week with our workshop load. We are honest about whether we can hit a particular deadline. If we can't, we'll tell you up front rather than wasting your time.
