Walnut and cherry dining set for a young family in London. The clients wanted something warm and honest that nodded to Japanese craft without feeling themed. 2 European Walnut slabs form the table top, supported by a simple cherry base with matching bench, chairs and stools for flexible everyday use.

We sourced the Euro walnut and US cherry from Sykes Timber in Birmingham, then designed and built the full set in-house – from rough boards to finished furniture.

The brief was to keep the forms light and friendly, with a few quiet references to Japanese furniture in the proportions and detailing.

The bench seat was fully hand-textured for grip and character, and all pieces were delivered and installed personally to make sure everything sat square and worked properly in the room.
