Oak Leaning Clothes Rack

¥62,000

Solid Japanese oak, finished with Osmo Polyx matte clear oil-wax. Half-lap joinery throughout, visible at every junction, intentionally so. The rack is meant to look deliberate and a little brutalist, with nothing decorative added.

The rack leans against a wall and stays put under its own load. The weight of clothes hung on the rail pulls it back into its working angle. Nothing fixes to the wall, nothing drills into the floor. Move it from one room to another in a minute.

The hanging rail sits on two oak dowels, so the whole piece flat-packs for delivery and re-packs if you move house.

Standard width is 800 mm. Wider versions are made on request, with additional intermediate legs added where needed. Ask before ordering.

Care

Wipe with a dry or barely-damp cloth. Re-apply Osmo Polyx matte clear every 1 to 2 years, or sooner if the timber starts to look dry. It goes on with a lint-free cloth in a thin coat and buffs back to a soft sheen. Avoid harsh cleaners and prolonged contact with water.
