Milk Beach Cafe London table

Overview:

American black walnut communal table and stools for Milk Beach, a new café in London. The brief was to create a warm focal point that would draw people into the room and work hard all day, from laptops in the morning to wine glasses in the evening.

Specifications:

Material: Solid American black walnut throughout
Top: Live-edge slab top made from three carefully matched boards
Joinery: Exposed butterfly keys stabilising natural splits
Base: Walnut frame with tapered legs and apron rails
Seating: Set of turned walnut stools, sized to the table height and spacing
Finish: Durable rubio monocoat finish suitable for commercial use
Capacity: Generous communal table seating for groups and solo customers

Our Role:

We designed and built the table and all of the stools in-house, from selecting the walnut boards to final finishing. The live-edge top was laid out to feel natural without being uneven for plates and glasses, and the base was engineered to stay rigid under daily café use. Each stool was turned on the lathe to match the table, then delivered and installed on site as the centrepiece of Milk Beach’s interior.
