Private Coaster Making Workshop (90 minutes)

If you would rather not mix with other guests, book the Private Coaster Making Workshop instead. It’s the same format, but the session is reserved for your group only. (Max 8 guests)

Make a set of solid wood coasters in our Niseko workshop. You choose the timber, shape the edges by hand with a plane, add a personal laser engraving, then sand and finish. You take them away the same day.

Each booking makes four coasters. Timber options are walnut, oak, maple, ash, kurumi, and birch. We’ll explain the differences in grain and hardness so you can pick what you like.

We start with a short safety and tool briefing. You plane a chamfer around the top edge, and if you’re comfortable with it you can also plane a bevel on the underside. Once the shaping is done, you choose your engraving and we run it on the laser. You then sand through the grits and apply a hardwearing finish. We pack them so they’re easy to travel with.

All materials and consumables are included, along with use of tools and PPE. Complimentary tea and coffee is included.

No experience is required. This is a public session, so you may be working alongside other guests. If you want a private session for your group, contact us and we can arrange it on suitable days.

Please arrive five minutes early. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Changes and cancellations are allowed up to 48 hours before the start time. Within 48 hours, bookings are not refundable and cannot be changed. If you can’t attend, you may transfer your booking to someone else. Please email us the name change.
